Task Breakdown for Implementing Knowledgebase Infrastructure

An overview is given of tasks required for implementing the infrastructure of the DOE Systems Biology Knowledgebase (Kbase). Starting with the computational and data platform (bottom layer), the scope, subtasks, resource estimates, and timelines for all tasks and hardware infrastructure are described in Chapter 8 of the 2010 DOE Systems Biology Knowledgebase Implementation Plan. These tasks are designed to be as orthogonal as possible and to break down the overall development of Kbase’s software and hardware infrastructure into major software subsystems with clear interfaces.
