Comparing Net Photosynthesis of Corn and Several Perennial Species

Annualized net photosynthesis is proportional to the area under the curve. Thus, if maximal rates of photosynthesis are similar, the perennial crops (yellow) have much higher annualized net photosynthesis than the annual crop, corn (Zea mays, blue).
